Programmatic Framework

CAFU will implement integrated programs that will enable it to achieve its vision while contributing to the realisation of the vision 2040 and the 2030 goals. The programmatic framework entails the commitment of CAFU to alleviate the well-being of orphaned and vulnerable children by complementing the efforts of the local authorities, faith-based
organisations, civil society institutions and the private sector.

The Integrated programmatic framework has been organized in three programmatic areas including
i) Livelihoods;
ii) Education and Vocational Training.
iii) Protection and Early childhood development.

Following the program-based planning approach adopted by the Government of Uganda, the programmatic priorities will be integrated and will be achieved through complementary. CAFU will benchmark already innovative solutions for sustainable development by working in effective and efficient ways to promote the protection and resilience of the OVCs.

 Objectives.

  • To enhance the Livelihoods and Resilience of OVC Households.
     To Improve access to Education and Vocational Training for OVCs.
  • To Enhance the protection and Early development of OVCs.

Intended outcomes

  • Achievement of the objectives will lead to the following outcome results.
  • Increased and diversified incomes for youth and OVC households
  • Improved youth vocational skills for self-employment
  •  Adolescent Empowerment

  • Mindset change Intervention – To be mainstreamed across all thematic areas, aligned with the parish development model.
  • Enhance effective mobilization of citizens, families and communities for development.
  • Increase the participation of families, communities and citizens in development initiatives by 80 per cent;
  • Reduce negative cultural practices and attitudes.
  • Reduction in the prevalence of negative social norms and cultural practices that perpetuate and/or exacerbate the vulnerability of the OVCs Indicators:
